Voices of MAYHEM

Voices of MAYHEM
A fan-to-stage experience, made for global community
Voices of MAYHEM is a digital pre-show for the MAYHEM Ball, featuring fan stories on arena screens, mirrored live on the website. We built a system where thousands of voices, inside the arena and across the world, feed into a single, evolving stage.
As the tour unfolds, the platform continues to evolve, with new features, visual refinements, and backstage tools that make it more dynamic, expressive, and connected to the community. Together, it sets the emotional tone before Gaga ever steps on stage.

Messages, scaled to the stage
Selected submissions appear across massive arena screens, scaled from handheld intimacy to stadium-wide visibility. Designed to adapt across 35 indoor arenas and outdoor stadiums, it scales to different LED proportions and configurations, accounting for distance, lighting, and environment.
We kept the visual language minimal, morphing clouds paired with existing opera music and dim lighting, to keep attention on the fan content, while allowing real-time global reactions to layer into the experience.
Every screen becomes part of the stage
The experience unfolds simultaneously across arena screens, desktop, and mobile, connecting audiences inside the venue with fans around the world. With its expansion beyond the arena, millions joined in real time, generating over 8M reactions on opening night. The website homepage takeover offers a continuous, observational feed and instant participation, from submit, react, to respond.

Gaga replies in real time
With the introduction of the Gaga Dashboard, fan messages can be read and responded to live from backstage—turning the experience into a real-time exchange. What was once a broadcast becomes a dialogue, where selected voices are acknowledged and amplified in the moment. The distance between artist and audience collapses into a single, shared interaction.
Custom tools for self-expression
New content customizers were introduced to the submission experience, giving fans more ways to shape their voice. Photos and videos can be transformed with MAYHEM-inspired effects tied to different acts of the show, alongside animated stickers and custom brushes—from fire and vines to rainbows and more. Each tool draws from the visual language of the MAYHEM Ball, extending the performance into fan-created content. Creations can be downloaded and shared, carrying the experience beyond the stage.

Making the global audience visible
We introduced a live community stats layer directly on stage and across the live stream, surfacing the scale and energy of participation in real time. Fans can see the top contributing cities around the world, alongside live metrics including stream viewers, reactions, and submissions. By visualizing the audience beyond the arena, the system brings the global community into the room, making the experience feel larger, more connected, and shared.

Built to evolve
Voices of MAYHEM has constantly upgraded throughout the tour. From local submissions to global participation, from message feed to reaction layer, from text to photo and video customization, each iteration expands as we rolled out new features and improvements few weeks at a time.
